As athletes and coaches, we saw the flaws in existing VBT devices. They were either too expensive, complicated, or outdated for modern training. Many relied on apps and were inconvenient for quick use. Others had quirks that just didn't make sense.
Training requires tools that work seamlessly, that’s why we built OVR Velocity. Simple, reliable, and affordable. Easy to set up, easy to use.
OVR Velocity measures the position of the bar hundreds of times per second to record multiple datapoints for each rep. Average velocity, peak velocity, power output, and much more.
Use this data to track progress, get daily fatigue, and increase intensity.
Average Velocity (m/s): The average speed of the movement across the full range of motion.
Peak Velocity (m/s): The highest speed reached at any point during the movement.
Range of Motion (in/cm): The total distance the load travels during the movement.
Average Power (W): The average power produced across the full range of motion.
Peak Power (W): The highest power produced at any point during the movement.
Time to Peak Velocity (s): The time from the start of the rep to when peak velocity is reached.
Elastic Acceleration Index: Peak velocity divided by time to peak velocity. A measure of how quickly speed is produced.
Train with it for 60 days. If your athletes are not lifting with more intent, send it back for a full refund. USA only.
OVR Velocity measures the speed of the bar. After every rep, performance metrics are displayed instantly on the device.

Bar velocity turns every rep into a number you can coach from, set to set and day to day

Track progress through bar velocity. Small week-to-week gains are invisible in typical sets and reps. Compare bar speed session to session and every athlete sees their progress in the numbers.

Instant feedback drives intensity. The moment bar speed shows on the screen, athletes want to hit a higher number next rep. Every set becomes a chance to PR.

Monitor fatigue in real time. Bar velocity changes day to day with recovery. Speeds down at a familiar weight? Back off. Speeds up? Push it.

Tailor training to the adaptation. Move at the bar speed that matches the goal. Lower velocities build absolute strength. Higher velocities build explosive power.

Reduce risk of injury with informed decisions. VBT flags fatigue at 50% of 1RM, not at 95% when it is already too late. Athletes start to care less about the weight on the bar and more about how fast it moves.

Every rep syncs to the free OVR Connect app. Track progress over time, see trends, share with athletes.
“It's nice to have an app, even better to not NEED it.” Alex B., Facility Owner

Your 1RM changes daily based on fatigue and recovery. Velocity Based Training prevents you from overtraining when you are fatigued.
A few extra features directly on the device
Reverse the measurement to the eccentric movement
Built in rest timer to keep you on track
Pick any three metrics to show on the device

Each telling a different story
Mean bar speed across the full range of motion. The core VBT number for intent.
Peak speed reached during the rep, used for explosive movements.
How far the bar travelled on the rep.
Mean power output across the lift. Force times velocity, averaged over the rep.
Highest power output reached at any point in the rep.
How long from the start of the rep to top speed.
Peak velocity divided by time to peak velocity.
Everything you need, with no recurring fees.

OVR Velocity was included in an independent study where it was validated for accuracy against the “gold standard” in VBT.
No, the app is completely optional. All metrics can be shown on the device’s built-in display.
No, OVR Velocity is a one-time purchase. There is no subscription cost to use the device or app.
OVR Velocity gives you 7 metrics for every rep:
OVR Velocity is used by strength coaches, team sport programs, private trainers, and individual athletes looking for simple, objective performance feedback.
