OVR Force accuracy and validation
OVR Force was measured side by side with gold standard force plates. Results below in the full study.
Force trace agreement
Both plates recorded the same jump at the same time. The OVR Force trace lands almost perfectly on top of the gold-standard reference.
The dataset
Metrics were pulled from both systems for comparison
| Metrics | OVR Force | Reference | Agreement |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peak propulsive force | 2,061 N | 2,064 N | 99.8% |
| Peak braking force | 2,051 N | 2,056 N | 99.8% |
| Take-off velocity | 2.93 m/s | 2.85 m/s | 97.5% |
| Braking asymmetry | 24.7% | 24.2% | ±0.5% |
Ten paired jumps and ten paired pulls, OVR Force stacked on the reference plate, both recording at once. Values are means across the ten trials; the full per-trial dataset is in the study.
Pro-grade specs
You need real data
A force plate is only worth owning if you can trust its readings. That's why we use the highest quality materials and sensors.
Guessing
Numbers that drift trial to trial cannot separate real change from noise, no matter how good the coach is
- Progress you cannot confirm
- Asymmetry flags lack confidence
- Return-to-play calls are uncertain
Measuring
When the plate matches the gold standard, the readings are numbers you can build a program around.
- Real progress you can see and track
- Asymmetry you can act on
- Return-to-play calls you can defend

Common questions
No subscription. The OVR Connect app is free, and the force plates work fully on their own.
No. Results appear on the built-in screen the moment a rep ends. The app is optional and adds history and deeper analysis.
OVR Force was validated against gold standard force plates with a high degree of reliability. Click here to read the full study.
The two differences are surface area and asymmetry. A single plate measures everything except asymmetry, which is the left/right comparison: how much more force one side produces than the other. Two plates add that comparison and double the surface area.
Strength and conditioning coaches, sports performance coaches, physical therapists, athletic trainers, and athletes who train on their own. Anyone who wants objective force data to guide training or return-to-sport decisions.
The OVR Force plate, a 1-meter USB-C cable used for both charging and tethering two plates together, a charging block, and a quick-start guide.
Yes. The OVR Connect app exports your results to CSV, so you can pull your data into your own spreadsheets, reports, or tracking system.
The top surface is half-inch hard-anodized aluminum on stainless steel feet, rated to 4,000 lb. It is built for daily use in a real weight room.
Two years against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use. Read the user manual for full warranty details.
